Who We Are
Mission Ukraine Children’s Hope, MUCH, was developed by a group of individuals who responded to Mark Koehler’s need for a more formal organization for his growing ministry. Mark is an independent missionary whose purpose in moving to Ukraine was to improve the quality of life for underprivileged children in Ukrainian communities and orphanages. MUCH adopted that purpose as its organizing principle.
MUCH was incorporated in the state of North Carolina, USA in May 2004; shortly thereafter, it was approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. MUCH is governed by a board of directors; elected officers attend to the organization’s day-to-day activities. Mark is second vice-president in charge of field operations, and he lives in Illichevsk, the site of the Massage Therapy Clinic and Emmaus Food Program.
